Sonia went to yoga for the first time when she was active duty in Virginia. She became a certified yoga instructor before her end of service and used her new passion and practice to help fellow sailors learn the physical practice of yoga and breathing techniques.
During sea time, she facilitated yoga classes after casualties and drills to help sailors manage the stress. Sonia felt more and more drawn to the mental health benefits of yoga as she transitioned into civilian life. She became a Level 1 Trauma Informed Instructor with Warriors at Ease and learned how more beneficial yoga was and it has helped her process her own traumas and manage anxiety and find rest. She, furthermore, received Mental Resilience training from Veterans Yoga Project. Sonia’s goals are to help others learn tools to manage stress, anxiety and other mental health issues.
She is deeply passionate about making yoga approachable and accessible to everyone. Her classes are open to caretakers, veterans, family, and friends.

“All bodies are Welcome” is the motto of Dremessa! She guides her classes to feel safe, empowered and maybe even exploratory, as best as she can! Positive intentions are weaved throughout optional breath and movement to increase flexibility, create space within the body and to cultivate natural awareness, connection and perhaps even, intuition. Class is aimed at beginners, but all level students are welcome! Multiple shape options with props are always available to accommodate any body type/mobility!
Classes are typically themed around things like Chakras, joint mobilization/certain body regions like hips or shoulders, and de-stressing our systems/rest and digest vs fight or flight. Her goal is to help students deepen their practice by aligning body, mind and spirit on the mat, to create more harmony off of the mat, in the safest way possible.

Laura’s deeper appreciation for yoga began several years ago when she began to experience some of the vast benefits that come from a consistent yoga practice. As her practice continues to evolve and strengthen over time, she has learned that yoga can be a powerful tool in aiding in her overall health and wellness. Using the breath in combination with movement helps to heal and restore the mind and body, allowing each one of us an opportunity to deepen our connection to one’s true essence through self exploration. Laura’s desire to share this knowledge with others motivated her to complete her RYT 200 hr certification through Bending Bodhi where she was trained in, but not limited to, vinyasa style yoga, using the combination of breath and movement to create and release energy throughout our entire being. She aspires to create a safe and inviting environment where all individuals can feel comfortable to express themselves through their own unique style of movement and breath as they explore their mind, body, and whole self. Her classes are all inclusive and designed with modifications to empower all individuals, regardless of age, gender, or ability, encouraging you to find your strength and balance both physically and mentally. Though she is currently a teacher, she considers herself to always be a student, continuing to explore new studies, including trauma informed practices. Her hope is to continue to share knowledge with others along her journey in a hope to create unity and peace deep within ourselves and for all those in our community.

Abby discovered yoga while at college, and has been practicing for over 10 years. As her practice evolved it quickly became a huge part of her life by helping with stress management and flexibility in everyday life. As a classically trained musician, yoga and breathing also helped her to advance her skills and made performing a simple experience. Abby began teaching in June of 2021 and began to explore even more ways that yoga and props can be used to relax, strengthen, and challenge the mind and the body.
Abby actively believes and encourages that movement is for everyone, and that movement looks different for everyone. In her classes you will find that there are always options and adjustments that can be made for you and your body and there is no wrong shape or movement. She encourages questions and laughs and can’t wait to meet you where you’re at when you come to your mat.

Liz has been practicing yoga for most of her life. Her own experiences with early childhood trauma and an ongoing back injury deepened and informed her yoga practice. She is currently continuing her studies completing a 500 hour RYT certification from Siddhi Yoga.
Liz’s teachings are inspired by mother nature, the divine feminine and the wisdom of the body. Her sequences and meditations guide students to step out of the thinking space and instead observe sensations. Through asana, meditation and self inquiry we can learn to listen to our inner knowing and connect with the energy that brings us all together. Her hope is to share the ancient teachings of yoga in a way that allows practitioners to honor their body and live from a heart centered space.

Rachel received her RTY-200 in February of 2021 and is relatively new to teaching Yoga! She has always been an athlete; horseback riding, volleyball, hiking, and running, (you get the idea)! She has had personal experience with physical injuries and chose to see that as an advantage, as it has provided the ability to both empathize and sympathize with others who may need additional assistance or modifications. After dozens of surgeries and other life-altering traumas, energy drove her into the open arms of Yoga and all of its practices. Through the physical practice of Yoga, breath-work, and meditation, Rachel discovered parts of herself that she never knew existed. Her hope and intent is to guide others through their practice and to provide a safe space where students can cultivate and thrive in their own Yoga practice.
Rachel feels over the moon to be lucky enough to have the sincere opportunity to teach and share the Yoga lineage, all the while, forever remaining a grateful student of Yoga.
