Bowenwork
Bowenwork is a gentle, hands-on approach that may be helpful for people experiencing pain, limited mobility, or other physical symptoms, particularly when other approaches haven’t provided the relief they were hoping for. Clients often report decreased pain, improved range of motion, and better management of long-standing symptoms. For some, Bowenwork has offered another option to explore alongside or in place of more invasive interventions.
Because Bowenwork works with the body’s connective tissue and nervous system, many people also experience a sense of greater calm and relaxation. Clients have reported improvements in stress, anxiety, tension, and feelings of burnout, making Bowenwork an option for those interested in supporting both physical and emotional well-being through a gentle, body-based approach.
What can Bowenwork Support?
People seek Bowenwork for a wide range of concerns, particularly those involving pain, tension, mobility, and musculoskeletal discomfort. It may be used as a complementary approach alongside other medical or therapeutic care.
Common reasons people explore Bowenwork include:
- Repetitive injuries/ chronic pain/ lack of range of movement
- Chronic medical conditions
- Concussions
- Recovery and maintaining performance for athletes
- Pregnancy and birth
- Mitigating anxiety and depression
- Headaches
- GI issues
- Respiratory issues
- Sleep issues
- Preparation for and recovery from surgery
Studies show that receiving Bowen treatment when you first sustain an injury decreases healing time by 30-50%. In addition, when we sustain injuries, we develop compensation patterns. Bowen resets the facial tension patterns preventing the compensation pattern from becoming a permanent one.
